Rick Steves' Europe 2008 Tours: Great Hotels

Tour Experience DVD

The Rick Steves' tour DVD gives you an in-depth look at traveling Europe — Rick Steves' style! These video clips are just a sampling of what you'll see on a typical Europe Through the Back Door trip. Tour guide Reid Coen "makes history come alive" with his enthusiastic approach to teaching European art and architecture. From a day in the life of a tour member to a typical group dynamic, these clips will give you a feel for what to expect on one of our trips.

Eat Your Way through Europe

Experiencing Europe's great cooking is as important as sightseeing, so our fully guided tours include most meals. It's a sensible balance that protects your budget, and lets you discover edible delights on your own.

Exercise

Our tours are physically active. Yes, there will be stairs-hundreds of them. Many of our hotels don't have elevators...it's one more reason to pack light and be in good shape.

The Group Dynamic

Small groups enable us to stay in centrally-located, family-run hotels and to sightsee and dine where larger groups can only dream. "Traveling small" gives our groups a friendlier, family atmosphere.

Balance of Structure and Free time

While our prices include all group sightseeing, we also design in free time to make your own discoveries with the help of your guide and your (included) Rick Steves guidebook.

Comfy Hotels

You'll travel as a "temporary European" on a Rick Steves tour, staying in smaller, family-run hotels in the historical heart of each city, within walking distance of what you came to see.

A Day in the Tour

We'll guide you through Europe at a comfortable pace, while giving you a rich, historical experience. All your group sightseeing admissions and tips are included.

Great Guides

Our guides are 100%-focused on bring you the best of Europe and giving you a great travel experience. Join guide Reid Coen as he leads a tour through Rome.
