How to Enable Cookies
Acceptance of cookies is not a requirement to browse the content of www.ricksteves.com, but our Travel Store requires the acceptance of cookies to keep track of the items in your shopping cart and to complete an order. We never use cookies to store sensitive customer information such as names, addresses, passwords or credit card numbers. If you would like to place an order, but cannot (or choose not to) allow cookies, you may request a newsletter and mail-in order form by contacting customerservice@ricksteves.com.
If you'd like to delete the cookie that our Travel Store creates, look in your computer files for 'your username@travelstore.ricksteves.txt'.
If you're using Internet Explorer 6.0:
1. Choose Tools, then
2. Internet Options.
3. Click the Privacy tab,
4. Set to medium or medium-high. The High setting will not allow you to use our shopping cart for online purchase.
If you're using Internet Explorer 5.0:
1. Choose Tools, then
2. Internet Options.
3. Click the Security tab,
4. Click Internet, then Custom Level.
5. Scroll down to Cookies and choose "Enable".
If you're using Internet Explorer 4.0:
1. Choose View, then
2. Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab,
4. Scroll down to the yellow exclamation icon under Security and choose "Always accept cookies" or "Prompt Before Accepting Cookies".
In Internet Explorer 3.0, you can View, Options, Advanced and click on the button that says "Warn Before Accepting Cookies".
If you're using Netscape Communicator 4.0:
On your Task Bar, click:
1. Edit, then
2. Preferences, then
3. click on Advanced.
4. Set your options in the box labeled "Cookies" to "Accept all cookies" or "Accept only cookies that get sent back to the originating server".
If you're using AOL:
1. Select "View | Internet Options..." then
2. "Security" then
3. Select "Custom" and click "Settings…"
4. Scroll down to the "Security" section.
5. Select "Always accept cookies" or "Prompt before accepting cookies".
6. Click OK.
AOL 8.0
1. From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings.
2. Select Preferences
3. Select Internet Properties (WWW)
4. Select the Privacy tab
5. Select Advanced
6. Deselect override automatic cookie handling button
7. Click OK to exit.
AOL 7.0 with IE 6.x

Under "When receiving cookies:" select the desired level of cookie acceptance
Under "When receiving cookies:" select the desired level of cookie acceptance
Click OK to finish
Mac IE 4.x
Go to My AOL on the menu bar
Pick WWW
Go to the Advanced Settings option on the Category menu
Click "Cookies"
When receiving cookies: Click "Never Ask"
Click OK
